Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Paris

The Short Version

I'm Sophie Moreau, based in Paris, and over the past few years I've been documenting my experiences at fitness clubs across France.

This site came about after growing tired of selecting gyms from ads and vague tips, only to find the reality didn't meet expectations. I wanted precise, candid details about what these venues were truly like. Not finding that, I chose to build it.

How This Started

My workout routine began at a modest gym close to 60 Rue de la Santé in Paris. It wasn't flawless, yet it was approachable, budget-friendly, and it helped me stay consistent.

When that place shut down, I saw how fast the fitness landscape in France was changing. New gyms emerged, fresh ideas appeared, and advertising grew louder than actual member experiences.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Over time those notes became this site, created to help others make better-informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Every review on this site comes from real visits and time spent inside the club. I focus on practical details that matter when you are choosing a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Allocate sufficient time to grasp routines, peak times, and trends
  • Visit across varied days and times
  • Experiment with multiple training formats and instructors
  • Use facilities routinely to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Speak with fellow members about what's consistent and what's not
  • Take notes right after each visit

I revise reviews when notable changes occur—renovations, changes in management, pricing shifts, or new amenities. Each article displays its most recent update date so you can gauge how current the information remains.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so this is what I deem most important when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without constant waiting?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Fair Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Apart from training and writing, I live and work in Paris. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and make them more transparent for those seeking the right setting.

Get in Touch

I get messages from people thinking about memberships or starting their fitness journeys. I try to reply when possible.

The best way to reach me is through the contact form.

If you have particular questions about a gym I've reviewed, I'm glad to provide additional details. If you have ideas for places I should visit next, I'm open to them as well.

Thank you for reading. I hope something here proves helpful in making your own fitness choices.
